This is a very easy lamb curry to make and tastes delicious, if you want to cook a curry without spending hours in the kitchen then this is the recipe to follow. You can put it on to cook and go read a book or have a nap for an hour or so come back and fry it for a few minutes and it's ready.
Ingredients:
1 Kg of Lamb (I like using lamb on the bone but you can use any cut)
Oil
Onions 2
Garlic 5 to 6 cloves
Ginger 1 inch
Red chilli (whole)
Salt to taste
Cumin 1 tsp
6 to 7 whole black pepper
2 cardamon pods
3 to 4 tomatoes chopped
2 tblsp yogurt
Green chillies 2 to 3
fresh coriander leaves
Method:
Wash the Lamb and put it in a large pot add a small glass of water, the onions, garlic, ginger, salt, chilli, cumin seeds, cardamom pods
and black pepper. Cook for an hour and half or till the lamb is
tender and there only a little water left. Then add the oil chopped tomatoes and yogurt and fry the meat till the
colour changes and it is beautiful dark brown, add the green chillies and fresh
coriander leaves cover the pot and turn off the heat serve after 5 mins with
naan bread or chapattis.
